#HallofFame | A Capitol Fourth

On July Fourth, America’s national Independence Day celebration honors our country’s birthday and its own 35 spectacular years on air with an all-star salute. Broadcast live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, this top-rated extravaganza features coverage from 20 cameras positioned around Washington DC, ensuring viewers are front and center for the greatest display of fireworks in the nation.

The A Capitol Fourth annual celebration includes breathtaking fireworks, big name artists, and a balanced gender ratio. 50% of the performers are solo female artists or musical groups with a mix of men and women!

Wondering why this is impressive? Because it's shockingly rare. Just take a look at the gender ratios for major music festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Reading-Leeds Festival. We had to search high and low to find a multi-group musical performance with a balanced ratio. The silver lining is that this performance will be viewed by millions when it's aired on PBS on July 4th, 2015.

Congratulations PBS and A Capitol Fourth, and welcome to the GenderAvenger Hall of Fame!
