📣🚨 Why Is Innoactive VR Training Summit Leaving So Many Women Out? Good Question.

We learned of the Innoactive VR Training Summit (May 11–14, 2020) from this tweet, so we were prepared to call out the manel portrayed in the event promotion. However, upon digging into the agenda for Day 4, we recognized something odd. Take a look at the 4:05 pm panel discussion. It’s being led by Cécile Tezenas du Montcel, a woman, but neither Ms. Tezenas du Montcel’s name nor her image appears in the list of speakers on the agenda or the promotion being circulated on social media. What gives? Why is she being left off the lists?

By the way, the speaker list for the entire 4-day conference is 77% men and 23% women, 14% of whom are women of color (not counting opening remarks and moderators), so Innoactive is already leaving far too many women out of the discussion. The organizers have improvements to make all around.

Innoactive needs to know we can see the gender inequality they’re promoting.

Hey @innoactivegmbh, why are you leaving so many women out of the #VRTrainingSummit? Only 23% of the speakers are women, and the one woman speaker on Day 4 seems to be left out of that agenda’s promotion altogether. It’s unacceptable. #GenderAvenger https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/innoactive-vr-training-summit
