Action Alert | Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Adaptive Leadership Conference Update

GenderAvenger Rachel Fagen (@rachelfagen) let us know that last week’s Action Alert, in which we expressed our dismay at the gender makeup of the speaker panel of Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Association’s Adaptive Leadership Conference, was premature.

While we’re happy that the current speaker panel sits at 5 women and 7 men, we would like to caution organizations against promoting an event before gender speaker balance is achieved. First impressions count, as Rachel points out, when they “assume the speakers their email readers would care about were the 4 male names they sent.”
