#HallofShame Round 2: Progress and Room for Improvement at Closing the Gap [UPDATE]
(See the bottom of this post for more recent updates!)
Since appearing in the GA Hall of Shame last month, Closing the Gap has increased its percentage of women speakers from 14% to 25%.
Closing the Gap: Solutions for an Inclusive Economy is "a multi-day conference that will bring together a pivotal group of world-class thinkers and doers from a broad range of arenas to listen to new ideas, gain new perspectives, and work together to determine how we can impact these coming changes to the benefit of our economy and our society."
Though we're happy to see the progress, there's still plenty of room for improvement. A conference that aims to create "solutions for an inclusive economy" should include a balanced gender ratio in its speaker lineup.
There's still time to make a change!
Closing the Gap starts on December 6th, 2015. That means conference organizers have more than one month to add more women speakers and to achieve a Hall of Fame gender ratio. Help us encourage them to make a change by sharing this message with conference organizers:
Our economy and our society benefit from including the voices of women. To close the gap and create solutions for an inclusive economy, you need more women thought leaders. Right now, your conference has just 25% women speakers. Please make a change: Add more women to your lineup and create the vibrant and inclusive array of speakers that we know you are capable of creating.

UPDATE 10/26/2015: More progress at Closing the Gap! There are now 30% women speakers in the conference lineup. In the past month this lineup has moved from 14% to 30% women speakers and we're happy to see that Closing the Gap is actively prioritizing adding more women speakers.
If the conference organizers can reach 40% women speakers, Closing the Gap will be the first conference that we've moved from Hall of Shame to Hall of Fame.
