#HallofFame | Sports Illustrated Gets It Right

Last week, GenderAvenger put out a call for media and sports commentators to set higher standards when discussing the women athletes of the 2016 Olympic Games. This week, we’re happy to report that Sports Illustrated has gotten it right twice in a row! The latest cover features Team USA Olympic gold medalists Katie Ledecky, Michael Phelps, and Simone Biles. The women of Team USA shone brightly these Olympic Games. Kudos to Sports Illustrated for putting them front and center.

Sports Illustrated has been doing its part to include women throughout its Olympic coverage, featuring 57% women when it ran in the July issue leading up to the Games. Now that they’ve gone two for two, GenderAvenger is happy to induct them into the Hall of Fame.
