The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), which works “to sharpen the skills of lawmakers and legislative staff in every state,” is holding its annual summit from Aug 5-8 in Nashville. The current line up of featured speakers includes Dolly and 7 — count ‘em — 7 dudes and no women of color. NCSL needs to correct this imbalance. 

Let’s get started early while they still have time to show they value 51% of the population state legislators represent. They do have time to fix this.
