Remember when Candace Jean Anderson took to Twitter to find the one woman among a sea of men in a photograph? We're hoping something similar can help us figure out the origin of the word manel. It’s easy to figure out how it was formed — all-male + panel = manel — but what we can’t figure out is who created this fantastic mashup that has become part of our daily lexicon. We wish we could take credit for this portmanteau, but sadly we cannot, so we want to give credit where credit is due.

Can you help? Hit us up on Twitter and Facebook and let us know what you can find out about the history of the word manel. We can't wait to find out.
