The following story comes from Avenger Gina:

I received a thousand-page plus book about voting that managed to only have one women.  Only one out of 6 authors and 16 commentators!

I emailed one of the editors, someone I had last talked to over 15 years ago. He immediately emailed me back to say he was incredibly embarrassed and could he please take me to lunch. Definitely a startled, gracious reply.

You can be sure, next year's version of the book will be very different.
