Avenger of the Week: Aly Wagner

Remember earlier this year when we told you about the abysmal lack of female broadcasters on NBC’s coverage of the Olympics? Well, it may not be the Olympic Games, but the World Cup is a pretty big deal and famed U.S. Soccer player Aly Wagner has become the first woman to call a men’s World Cup match on U.S. television.

Having become a broadcaster after being a  World Cup soccer medalist herself, Wagner is the perfect fit and it’s about time a women with her expertise is serving in this role. Hopefully NBC is watching and follows suit for their coverage of the 2020 summer games.
